Health Room Volunteers Needed

Marcy health room volunteers are needed for the 2016-2017 school year.  Volunteers apply band-aids, give out ice packs, and provide lots of TLC for sick and hurt students.  Medical training is not required, but there is a short internet training course that must be completed before volunteering.  Health room shifts are 9 am-noon and noon-3 pm, Monday-Friday.  You can volunteer as often as once or twice a week or as little as once a month.  Please fill out the form below if you are interested.

Cub Scout Fall Sign Up

Is your son interested in joining Cub Scouts? Pack 107, sponsored by the Marcy PTO, provides elementary school age boys, grades 1st through 5th, many fun and exciting things to do (camping, pinewood derby car racing, hiking, first aid, archery) while learning about Scouting. Stop by our display next to the Marcy PTO table during the Marcy Meet and Greet on August 30th to pick up an information packet.

Pack 107 would also like to invite you to attend our Fall Orientation and Registration Pack meeting on Wednesday, September 14th, 6:00pm – 7:30pm, in the Marcy gym. There will be a short presentation on Cub Scouts and Pack 107 followed by registration for new and returning scouts. Leaders will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. For our scouts, new and returning, and their siblings, the Menomonee Falls Police Department will be hosting a bike safety rodeo on the school playground during the meeting. Each child must have a bike that is in good working order and their own bike helmet in order to participate.

Make sure to sign the Recruitment Contact sheet when you pick up your information packet so that we can send you a reminder about the September Pack Meeting. Use the contact form below if you have any questions for Brian Nagai, Committee Chair.

Marcy Staff Welcome Back Lunch

Marcy PTO is sponsoring a back-to-school luncheon for our amazing teachers and staff on Friday, August 26th.  Please consider donating an item to show our appreciation and make the event a success!

Items should be brought to the Staff Lunch Room before 10 am on Friday, August 26th.  There is a fridge available for perishable items.  Non-perishable items can be dropped off any time during the week.  All items should be labeled “Friday Staff Lunch.” Most of the items can be dropped off in a disposable Ziploc bag and will be transferred to bowls. If you do provide a platter or other serving item, it will be washed and available for pick up in the PTO room after the event.

If you’d like to donate an item, please sign up using the link below.  Thank you!

Car Wash Fundraiser

On Sunday, August 28th, from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm, the Hamilton High School Best Buddies chapter will be hosting a car wash and brat fry at the Piggly Wiggly in Sussex. All proceeds will be used to help purchase the new inclusive playground equipment for Marcy School. This playground is a cause our Best Buddies are proud to support, as it exemplifies our belief, “We are more alike than different.”

Several High School staff and students from Best Buddies will be running the car wash and we’d love to have a few Marcy students join the fun.  This could include holding signs advertising the car wash, accepting donations, and thanking supporters. Each elementary aged student would be partnered with a responsible high school student as “buddies” for the event. Special Education staff from the high school will be overseeing the event and our buddy pairings. Marcy students are welcome to be dropped off for a portion of the time or to stay as parents shop at Piggly Wiggly. Parents can stay and help out as well!

Please consider allowing your child to participate or stop by to support this great cause.  If you have questions or concerns, fill out the contact form below to reach Megan Rauter, special education teacher and Best Buddies advisor at HHS.  Thank you!
