Volunteer Opportunities
When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved!  Your help is needed! If you are interested in volunteering, please email Katie Kalmi for more information.

Open Committee Positions

Library and Workroom Volunteer Help

If this is  your first time volunteering in the Hamilton School District, you must fill out a Volunteer Application Form.

Here are some volunteer committee positions that are available for the 2024-2025 school year.

Health Room Coordinator: Nursing skills are not required. Coordinator will manage a schedule for volunteers to be in the health room to administer bandages, ice packs, take temperatures and call home for sick students. Please contact Katie Kalmi if interested.

Grade Level Playground Meet-Ups: Families have expressed a desire to meet other Marcy families. If you are interested in setting up playground meet-ups for your child’s grade level about once a month, please contact Katie Kalmi. Meet-ups can be weekdays or weekends, whatever fits your schedule.

Shady Lane: In Spring each year, we sell gift certificates to Shady Lane Garden Nursery. We need a volunteer (for 2025) to advertise, collect money, and distribute gift certificates to those who purchase. Please contact Katie Kalmi if interested.

We have several events throughout the year where we will need help, such as the Fun Run, Book Fair, and Donuts with a Grown-Up. Keep an eye on the Marcy and PTO newsletter to sign-up for these and other events. Many staff members would love help in their classroom. They will send out that information on their own.

Library Helpers: Volunteers are needed in the library for 1st-3rd graders during their LTL class and checkout times. When volunteers are not helping students find books to check out, we would ask them to be a “second set of hands” for certain class activities or to help us with a variety of operational/day-to-day needs in the library. A variety of 45 minute slots are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Use this link to sign up. Please contact Emily Fehr if you have any questions.

Workroom: Workroom volunteers head to the workroom and look for teacher's baskets with jobs to be completed.  Jobs can range from copying and sorting, to paper cutting, tracing or project prep for some of our younger kiddo's classes.  This is a huge help to our teachers and allows them to spend more of their time focusing on their students. Use this link to sign up. Please contact Cheryl Koelbl for training if this is your first time.
